Static Rope (Kernmantle Rope)
Static Rope is made by braiding synthetic fibers into a rope with low elongation. The stretching percentage is usually less than 5% when placed under load. In contrast, the dynamic rope is usually can be stretched up to 40%. Due to its low elongation feature, the static rope is widely used in caving, fire rescue operations, climbing, etc.
